Phillies star Rhys Hoskins proposed to his girlfriend a year after his MLB debut

Since debuting on August 10 last season, Phillies slugger Rhys Hoskins has had a ridiculously eventful year. After bursting onto the scene by knocking 18 dingers in his first 34 big league games, he's solidified himself as one of the faces of a young and exciting Phillies team that currently finds itself in the thick of things atop the NL East.
But the best moment of Hoskins' whirlwind year must have been last Thursday -- a full 364 days after his first game in the bigs -- when he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Jayme Bermudez, on the beach in San Diego.

Together since their teenage years, Hoskins and Bermudez attended rival high schools in the Sacramento area and have an absolutely adorable dog named Rookie, who has an Instagram account we highly recommend checking out.
A big congrats to the happy couple. May your forthcoming years be filled with happiness, love and a multitude of dingers.
