Robert Stock became Twitter-verified so he tried to get his favorite famous people to respond to him

There are a few milestones a Major League pitcher must reach in order for him to truly feel like he has made it: Throwing 100 mph, making his Major League debut and riding in a bullpen cart. Padres reliever Robert Stock has successfully hit each one of those checkpoints in the last year and now he can add something else to the list -- getting that blue checkmark on Twitter.
OK, so there is more that goes into playing in the big leagues, but when Stock got the news he was verified, he wanted to experiment to see if anyone famous would respond to him.

Here's how it went.
First, he asked comedic actor Will Forte the question you ask during the wee hours of the morning:

He then greeted Russell Crowe -- who needs no introduction:

Marshawn Lynch was also brought into the conversation -- Stock loves the Skittles, and who doesn't?

And a Hugh Jackman GIF was presented with an emphasis on "The Prestige:"

And just how did he do? Did he get a response from anyone? Unfortunately no. At least not yet.
"I'll have to try harder, I guess," Stock told MLB.com. "But don't worry, I spent 10 years in the minors before I got this checkmark. I can spend 10 more getting Russell Crowe to talk to me."
He said it's worth the wait with "Gladiator" being his favorite movie.
Good luck, Stock -- and let us know if Cut4 can help you in any way. Even though we are a little upset we weren't on your "famous list."
