Tim Anderson bought his mom a sleek new car with his new contract money

Fresh off a new six-year, $25 million extension with the White Sox, shortstop Tim Anderson is feeling mighty generous. When he signed the deal, Anderson noted that teammate Todd Frazier expected the shortstop to fund a team dinner.
While we can't confirm whether or not Anderson fulfilled Frazier's request, it appears he has made sure to take care of his mom.

Anderson mentioned that he signed the extension to provide financial security for his wife and daughter, but insisted that bringing joy to his mother was his primary motivation. "For me to be able to tell my mom this, to see the smile on her face, was just priceless," he told MLB.com's Scott Merkin.
Now, his mom has a tangible reason to be happy her son signed to stay in Chicago long-term. As a bonus, she can now drive to Guaranteed Rate Field in style to watch him play.
