Nicaragua's Renato Morales is just as excited as you that he made this catch
Bottom of the eighth inning. Tie game. Bases loaded with two outs. Loser is out of the World Baseball Classic qualifier, winner advances to the final to take on Mexico and, with another victory, book a trip to the 2017 Classic.
You're tense, beads of sweat dripping off the back of your knees, and you're just sitting there watching it all unfold. Imagine what it's like for those playing. Which is why you can understand where Nicaragua's left fielder Renato Martinez was coming from after racing in to make this diving catch on Petr Zyma's dying liner.
This is how all emotions should be experienced.
Thanks in large part to that catch and Morales' three hits and two RBIs, Nicaragua proved victorious against the Czech Republic, winning, 7-6, in 11 innings, with the Czech Republic stranding runners at the corners at the final out.
Nicaragua will now look to avenge an 11-0 mercy rule loss on Friday with they get a rematch against Mexico on Sunday at 10 p.m. ET. That game, along with the other group final between Panama and Colombia (airing at 7 p.m. ET), can be streamed on MLB.com and WorldBaseballClassic.com.
