Adam Rosales' headfirst slide into third resulted in a lost helmet and a face full of dirt

Adam Rosales only knows one way to play this game we all love -- very hard, with maximum effort. It doesn't matter whether he's sprinting around the basepaths after a homer or, as displayed in the A's 4-1 win over the Yankees on Friday night, scampering to third on an errant pickoff throw to first.
With the game scoreless, Rosales found himself on first base after an eighth-inning single. Knowing that every little moment matters that much more when you're trying to push across the game's elusive first run, Rosales took off after reliever Tyler Clippard's pickoff attempt skipped down the first-base line.  
Rosales had third base nabbed easily, but his slide ... well, he ran into a bit of an issue sliding into third face-first: 

Despite the forceful impact of that play, MLB.com's Jane Lee reported after the game that Rosales merely had a scrape under his eye, but nothing else in terms of lingering after-effects.
