But while Palka's exploits on the baseball diamond have started to gain more recognition, his track record of extraordinary athletic achievement actually stretches far beyond the baseball diamond. A quick glance at the Wikipedia page for the 2010 McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game reveals that Palka participated in the high-end hoops showcase alongside several future NBA stars such as Kyrie Irving. He played for the East team and scored two points in 12 minutes of play:

Palka was, unsurprisingly, a star on the Greer High School baseball team in Greer, S.C. But he did not play on the basketball team there and was not selected for the premier annual high school hoops showcase.
He and a friend did a little Internet magic a couple years back and decided to beef up his high school athletic resume. If you ask him about it, Palka still "remembers" his time playing with Kyrie very well. He told us all about it during a recent trip to Yankee Stadium.
