Melky Cabrera cannot even handle just how spectacularly Dillon Gee fell off the mound
A hitter needs to be completely locked in when he steps into the batter's box -- when attempting to hit a tiny white sphere traveling at 90-something mph, that should probably be the only thing on your mind. And so Melky Cabrera prepared to face Dillon Gee during Friday's Royals-White Sox game, looking out to the mound, ready to face a fastball, slider or perhaps even a changeup.
You can understand his surprise, then, when what Melky thought would be a pitcher throwing a baseball rapidly devolved into a giant ball of rapidly flailing limbs:
We don't blame you, Melky. Once you've seen John Gant's delivery, you take nothing for granted.
