Jeff McNeil turned the netting down the right-field line into a trampoline on this catch

The installation of extended netting is a new development at some stadiums as teams look to enhance the safety measures put in place to protect fans at the ballpark.

An unintended but amusing consequence of having netting extend down into the right-field and left-field lines? Well, look at this play made by Mets All-Star Jeff McNeil in Thursday afternoon's 4-0 win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field:

That's almost a stunt, the way McNeil barreled into the netting and bounced back. It looks like fun, honestly.

Will this sort of thing happen every time at a park with extended netting? Probably not. But it'll most likely be entertaining each time it does.
