Jonathan Schoop joked in the clubhouse about not putting on O's uniform, and now he's a Brewer

The rumors were swirling, the 4 p.m. ET Trade Deadline was quickly approaching, and Jonathan Schoop arrived in the Orioles clubhouse to suit up for Tuesday's game against the Yankees in the Bronx. Schoop, the subject of many potential deals throughout the week, joked about his future -- even as the deadline passed. Probably just to ease the tension, maybe just to make his teammates more comfortable.



And then, welp.


The Brewers acquired the All-Star second baseman for Jonathan Villar and two top prospects. Schoop will be another big bat in an already potent Milwaukee lineup down the stretch. The 25-year-old had spent all six of his professional seasons in Baltimore -- and hit his very first dinger, a mammoth one, at Camden Yards:
