Fans stepped up to help when the lights went out at Tropicana Field
As much as fans may like to think that their cheering and support have a material impact on the baseball field, attending a baseball game remains largely a passive pursuit. Mostly, you just sit in your seat and enjoy the product of everyone else's work, from the players to the ballpark staff.
But during Sunday afternoon's game against the Yankees, Rays fans took on an active role in the lighting of the field after the lights went out at Tropicana Field.

Unfortunately, the DIY approach to stadium lighting didn't pack the power of the installed fixtures, so everyone just had to wait for the lights to come back on anyway. Nevertheless, if anyone ever earned an "A" for effort, these fans deserve that grade as well.
