The Giants Community Fund is proud to recognize the Masons of California as the Official Mitt Champion, celebrating their extraordinary commitment to youth development through baseball and softball. With a historic three-year, $650,000 pledge, the Masons are expanding their impact by supporting Junior Giants, Junior Giants Schools and the Giants Community Fund’s Academy programs. This marks the largest gift made by a foundation in the Fund’s history and reinforces their dedication to providing life-changing opportunities for young athletes.

A Legacy of Impact
For more than 15 years, the Masons of California have partnered with the Giants Community Fund to support Junior Giants through the Masons4Mitts initiative. The campaign is a friendly competition from April - September among lodges to raise money for youth. The goal is to give these kids a simple, but meaningful gift: their own baseball glove.
"Giving back to the community is fundamental to Freemasonry," said Doug Ismail, President of the California Masonic Foundation. "The Giants Community Fund has been a long-time partner of the Masons of California, and we are honored to continue supporting their mission while expanding educational and leadership opportunities for youth."
A Focus on Careers in Technical Education
In 2024, the Fund worked with the Masons to create a “Careers in Sports” event for Academy players in middle school that focused on the opportunities to follow a Career and Technical Education pathway through SFUSD’s High Schools. The annual event includes information on SFUSD’s program along with students who are currently enrolled, a panel discussion from current Giants Front Office employees, an exclusive behind the scenes tour of Oracle Park for students, and the opportunity to attend the Giants game that evening.
