Willians Astudillo avoided the tag at third with a slide that left him hanging on for dear life
Willians Astudillo has made it his stated mission to show the world that chubby people can run. In the course of fulfilling that mission, the Twins' catcher-slash-super-utility player has had experiences familiar to anyone who has gone out for a brisk jog: His hat has repeatedly come flying off and he's been left gasping for air.
On Sunday, Astudillo was at it again, trying to advance from first to third base on a routine single from Jason Castro. Obviously, his helmet flew off. But most significant were the evasive slide he had to employ to avoid the tag and the vice grip he needed to prevent his momentum from carrying him beyond the bag.
That wasn't the last time Astudillo had to show off some fancy moves at third. During the very next at-bat, he had to show off some quick reflexes to jump out of the way of a foul ball.

He eventually came in to score on a Max Kepler home run, which was an appropriate reward for all that hard work to avoid getting out.
