Jays Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Toronto Blue Jays, has officially opened the 2024 Field Of Dreams application cycle, and is proud to introduce TD Bank Group (TD) as the new presenting sponsor of its Field Of Dreams program. Beginning today until October 31st, organizations from coast to coast to coast can apply for funding to help build, enhance, or refurbish local diamonds and safe spaces in their community through jayscare.com/fieldofdreams.
These spaces will give children and youth across Canada a place to develop important life skills and learn from positive role models. To be eligible for funding, grant applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a charitable organization, non-profit baseball association, municipality, Indigenous community, school, or school board
- Use the grant to build within Canada
- Have the project completed within 12-18 months of receiving funding approval
- Be dealing with infrastructure that directly supports children and youth facing barriers
- Provide audited financial statements from the past year
- Provide detailed quotes for all aspects of the project
- Provide all applicable municipality and work permits, where required
In 2023, 15 organizations across eight provinces and one territory received more than $1.5 million in funding to build, enhance, or refurbish local diamonds and safe spaces in their community. Over the past 10 years, Jays Care has invested nearly $15 million for 163 Field Of Dreams projects across the country.
“We are excited to give organizations across Canada the opportunity to apply for funds to create safe spaces for young people to play. Jays Care has funded well over 200 Field Of Dreams projects across Canada and the positive impact they have had on those communities has been profound. We encourage all eligible organizations and communities to apply for our 2024 grants. Jays Care is grateful to partner with TD, who shares in our vision that all children deserve a place where they can safely play, connect, learn, and grow. We are excited to continue a legacy of investing in infrastructure across our Blue Jays Community.” – Robert Witchel, Executive Director, Jays Care Foundation.
"We are thrilled to partner alongside the Jays Care Foundation on the Field Of Dreams program. We are excited to bring the spirit of teamwork, mentorship and love for the game to youth and communities across Canada. Together, we look forward to supporting the next generation of Blue Jays – now let's play ball!" – Michael Armstrong, Vice President, Brand, Sponsorships and NA Brand Management.
Recipient communities of 2024 Field Of Dreams grants will be announced in April of next season.
