How in the world did Yadier Molina manage to catch this pitch?

Yadier Molina is firmly established as one of -- if not the -- best defensive catchers of his generation. He's been handling even the most outlandish circumstances so casually for so long that it's as though he was born with a mitt and a mask.
But the great ones never settle, and even in his 15th season, Yadi is still coming up with new ways to amaze us. Case in point: Tuesday's Cardinals-Dodgers game, in which Molina somehow managed to snag a pitch that was 1) above his head and 2) a different kind of pitch than the one he thought he was getting.

It's settled: The only thing that can fool Yadier Molina is Yadier Molina's chest protector.
