The Arizona Diamondbacks and Honeywell are proud to support STEM learning and robotics in Arizona through the D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Program. The program is comprised of initiatives that provide resources and guidance for new and established robotics programs at every level. Whether your school is new to robotics or you belong to an established team, the D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Program is here to help!

Starting a New Robotics Team?

The D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Program wants to help you start a robotics program at your school! New teams may be eligible to receive funding to help offset costs of building a program and Honeywell engineers are available to give expert guidance and mentorship as your team grows. Teams can attend the D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Competition as a spectator with the goal of attending as a future competitor. For more information fill out the form below.

D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Competition

On April 30, 2022, 10 high school robotics teams traveled to Chase Field to compete and earn grant funding by building a robot to participate in a pitching competition! Each participating team received a $2,000 grant for start-up supplies. The 1st place winner Cactus Robotics received an additional $2,500, 2nd place Plasma Robotics received $2,000, and 3rd place AZTechs received $1,500. All other participants received an additional $500 grant.

On June 24, 2023, the second annual D-backs and Honeywell Futureshaper Robotics Competition took place. Fifteen teams received VEX V5 Starter kits to build a robot that could hit a ball off a tee, throw a ball into a net, and run the bases. Mountain Pointe High School won 1st place and received a $2,000 grant. Arcadia High School finished in 2nd place and received $1,500. Highland High School finished in 3rd place and received $1,000. The other participating teams earned a $500 grant for their efforts.

Arizona Robotics League

The Arizona Robotics League supported by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Honeywell is an offseason FIRST Robotics Competition Series designed to provide training and experience for major competitions. The program is run locally by FRC498, the Cobra Commanders. The Arizona Robotics League is a great way to gain experience for junior members prior to major competitions.
