No, he didn't make it to Yankee Stadium until the seventh inning of Monday's game, by no fault of his own. You see, Wade had to rely on the driving skills of an Uber driver in a minivan, whom Wade urged to "floor it" in hopes of saving as much time as possible on the journey.
Tyler Wade said he got here in the seventh inning. He got an Uber from Scranton, a minivan. He told the driver to floor it. The Yankees picked up the fare.

"I got here as fast as I could," said Wade to the gathered media after Monday's game. "I knew it was urgent, we had a short bench, so I wanted to make it here as fast as I can."
If you were picturing an excited Wade, sitting in the back of this Uber in his full, pinstriped-out baseball uniform, I'm sad to report that wasn't the case. "No, I wasn't, I'd just showered," he told the media of his sojourn from Scranton to New York City.

There's something amusing about a Major League ballplayer, whether or not he's in his uniform, sitting in the back of a minivan barreling through rush hour traffic to make it to the ballpark. Despite the reason the Yankees wanted him there as quickly as possible, this is an objectively entertaining story that I'm sure Wade will have fun telling for years.
