Players with at least 10 RBIs in a game

March 11th, 2019

More than two decades ago, on Sept. 7, 1993, "Hard Hittin'" Mark Whiten had one of the greatest offensive performances in Major League history.

Not only did Whiten connect for four of the 105 homers he'd hit over his 11-year career, he also tied a 69-year-old record with 12 RBIs in a game, which had been set by fellow Cardinals slugger Jim Bottomley on Sept. 16, 1924.

Teammate Todd Zeile summed up Whiten's performance best a couple days later, telling Sports Illustrated, "You can't even do what he did in batting practice."

While no one has caught Whiten and Bottomley since, a few players have had close calls, including Scooter Gennett and Anthony Rendon, who each had 10-RBI games less than a week apart during the 2017 season.
