2004 Cardinals-Dodgers NLDS recap

Cardinals defeat Dodgers, 3 games to 1

October 3rd, 2022

The Cardinals rattled off an MLB-best 105 wins during the regular season and continued to cruise in the playoffs, eliminating the Dodgers in four games in the NLDS.

After a pair of 8-3 wins in Games 1 and 2, the Cardinals' bats were silenced by Dodgers starter Jose Lima in a five-hit shutout in Game 3 at Dodger Stadium.

That'd prove to be the only bright spot for Los Angeles, as Jeff Suppan helped the Cardinals clinch the series win in Game 4.

Albert Pujols had five hits, scored four runs, hit two home runs and drove in five in the series.

Path to the NLDS: St. Louis (105-57) won the NL Central by 13 games; Los Angeles (93-69) won the NL West by two games
