In the Major League phase of the 2025 Rule 5 Draft, the Yankees selected RHP Cade Winquest in the first round from St. Louis. In the Triple-A phase, the Yankees selected RHP Hansel Rincon in the first round from Milwaukee and C Abrahan Gutierrez in the second round from the Athletics.

Winquest, 25, combined to go 5-7 with a 3.99 ERA (106.0IP, 105H, 54R/47ER, 39BB, 110K, 7HR) in 25 games (23 starts) with High-A Peoria and Double-A Springfield last season. He allowed 3ER-or-fewer in 21 of his starts and 2ER-or-fewer in 12 of those starts. The right-handed pitcher began the 2025 season at Peoria, going 2-6 with a 4.52 ERA (63.2IP, 63H, 38R/32ER, 27BB, 68K, 4HR) in 17 games (15 starts). He was promoted to Springfield on July 14 and went 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA (42.1IP, 42H, 16R/15ER, 12BB, 42K, 3HR) in eight starts. Over parts of three minor league seasons in the Cardinals organization (2023-25), Winquest has gone 8-16 with one save and a 4.19 ERA (212.2IP, 194H, 111R/99ER, 92BB, 219K, 14HR) in 58 games (38 starts). The Fort Worth, Tex., native was originally selected by St. Louis in the eighth round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Texas at Arlington.

Rincon, 23, did not pitch in each of the last two seasons (2024-25). He was most recently signed by Milwaukee to a minor league contract on November 6, 2025. Over parts of three minor league seasons in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization (2021-23), Rincon has gone 5-10 with a 4.68 ERA (125.0IP, 148H, 75R/65ER, 26BB, 119K, 7HR) in 43 games (17 starts). The San Pedro de Macorís, D.R., native was originally signed by Arizona as a non-drafted free agent on September 25, 2019.

Gutierrez, 26, combined with Triple-A Indianapolis and Single-A Bradenton in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization to hit .235 (24-for-102) with 11R, 1 double, 1HR, 6RBI and 9BB in 32 games in 2025. He was released by Pittsburgh on August 5 and most recently signed by the Athletics as a minor league free agent on December 4. Over parts of eight minor league seasons in the Atlanta Braves (2017), Philadelphia Phillies (2018-19, ‘21) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2021-25) organizations, Gutierrez has batted .261 (439-for-1,683) with 208R, 89 doubles, 4 triples, 29HR, 215RBI, 196BB and 12SB in 471 games. The Caracas, Venezuela, native was originally signed by Atlanta as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016 (later voided). He then signed with Philadelphia to a minor league contract on December 21, 2017. Gutierrez was acquired by Pittsburgh from Philadelphia in exchange for LHP Braeden Ogle on July 30, 2021.

Additionally, Chicago-NL selected RHP Adam Stone (first round), Seattle selected RHP Sean Hermann (second round) and New York-NL selected LHP Matt Turner (third round) from the Yankees in the Triple-A phase.
