All-Star Game Selection Show draws best ratings since 2007

7:39 PM UTC

FOX saw historic ratings for Saturday’s All-Star Game Selection Show presented by KONAMI.

The broadcast drew 5,897,000 viewers, making it the most-watched MLB All-Star Game Selection Show on any network since its inception in 2007.

By design, the Selection Show aired immediately after Saturday’s FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match between France and Paraguay. Peak viewership for the match occurred between 6:45-7 p.m. ET, neatly teeing up the All-Star Game Selection Show, which began at 7:30 p.m.

The France-Paraguay match was also played at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field -- across the street from Citizens Bank Park, the site of Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.

FOX will carry exclusive coverage of the Midsummer Classic, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET on July 14. The AL and NL rosters include some of the game’s brightest stars, from Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto to Mike Trout and Yordan Alvarez.
