Graveman in control, Healy hits fifth HR in A's win

MESA, Ariz. -- The hot-hitting A's busted out for five runs in the first inning en route to an 8-2 victory over the White Sox at Hohokam Stadium on Friday afternoon.
, and Chris Parmelee notched RBI hits in the opening frame, and connected for a two-run homer in the second for his fifth of the spring, as Oakland pounded a White Sox bullpen that was saddled with pitching duties in place of injured starter , who was scratched from the start.
The A's, who totaled 15 runs and 18 hits against the Brewers the day prior, finished with 15 hits this time around, providing plenty of support for right-hander , who twirled seven innings of one-run ball.

Graveman, recently appointed the club's Opening Day starter, struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. He scattered five hits, including 's RBI double in the fourth.
"To get seven ups was good," Graveman said. "I felt like I could've gone more, but that was all we needed. I feel like we're getting closer and more prepared for Opening Night."
White Sox Up Next: Right-hander makes a key start Saturday as the White Sox host the Indians for a 3:05 p.m. CT tilt. Having spent 2016 at Double-A Midland in the A's organization, the Rule 5 draft choice was penciled in for Triple-A, but his name came up from general manager Rick Hahn in discussing options if the Sox need to replace Carlos Rodon in the rotation.
