Saturday's A's-Rangers game rained out

April 14th, 2019

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers' game with the Athletics on Saturday night has been postponed because of rain. The game was called at 7:50 p.m. CT after a delay of 45 minutes.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, June 8. Fans holding tickets to Saturday’s game can use them for the first game on June 8 and do not need to be exchanged. Fans can also use their parking receipt from Saturday for the first game.

The second game on June 8 will start at 8:05 p.m. and will be preceded by the Adrian Beltre retirement ceremony. Only fans holding tickets for the night game will be able to attend that game.

Adrian Sampson, who was supposed to pitch on Saturday, is being pushed back and is now scheduled to start on Sunday. He will face left-hander Brett Anderson for the Athletics.

The Rangers will push the rest of the rotation back. That means Shelby Miller, Mike Minor and Lance Lynn will start in the three-game series against the Angels from Monday-Wednesday.

This is the Rangers' first postponement at home since April 17, 2016, against the Orioles, and first overall since Sept. 5, 2017, at Atlanta. June 8 would be the first doubleheader in Arlington since a split twin bill on Sept. 30, 2012 against the Angels.
