ANAHEIM -- Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre said he recovered fine on Friday morning after playing his first game off the disabled list. Beltre was 2-for-4 in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners and was not in the lineup Friday night against the Angels after the Rangers arrived at their hotel at 4 a.m. from Seattle.
"It's fine," Beltre said. "Obviously they have a schedule for me. But I woke up fine and hopefully it will stay that way."
Beltre was used at designated hitter on Thursday and said he is "pretty itchy" to get back to third base. Manager Jeff Banister said there is a possibility he could play third base on Saturday, but added that Isiah Kiner-Falefa could get the majority of playing time there until the Rangers have a better idea of what Beltre can do physically.
Beltre had a fourth-inning single on Thursday night, but couldn't score from first base on Jurickson Profar's double when the ball got away from right-fielder Mitch Haniger in the corner. Beltre ended up getting left on base.
"I'm OK with that," Banister said. "Having him in the lineup is a pretty good tradeoff."
Decisions loom on Lincecum, Tocci
Right-hander Timothy Lincecum allowed an unearned run over two innings in his lastest outing for Triple-A Round Rock. He walked two, hit a batter and did not give up a hit or strike anybody out.
"Probably the best fastball command and delivery so far," Banister said, citing the reports coming from the Round Rock staff. "His secondary stuff wasn't as sharp. Got some ground-ball outs."
Lincecum is on a 30-day medical rehabilitation assignment that expires Tuesday. At that point, the Rangers will have to decide whether to bring him to the big leagues. If they decide not to, it would be up to Lincecum to decide what he wants to do next. Right now, the Rangers have a set eight-man bullpen so it will be a tough call.
"Every decision is a tough decision," Banister said. "There are no easy decisions made."
Friday was the final day of Rule 5 outfielder Carlos Tocci's rehab assignment. Position players get 20 days and he is just 4-for-24 in seven games with Round Rock. He began the assignment going 7-for-22 at Double-A Frisco.
As a Rule 5 pick, Tocci has to go back on the 25-man roster and stay there all year. Otherwise, he goes through waivers and can be claimed under Rule 5 conditions. If he clears waivers, he has to be offered back to the Phillies, but the two sides could also work out a trade.
"I think he swung the bat well up to Triple-A," Banister said. "It's not the numbers he has put up at Triple A before. We still like the kid. There is a decision that needs to be made."
Guzman staying low in order
Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman entered Friday hitting .361 with an .806 slugging percentage in his last 11 games. But he was still hitting eighth on Friday as Banister keeps him in the lower third of the order.

"You look at teams that win consistently, there is production from the 7-8-9 spots," Banister said. "Guzman has given us production in that area. To continue to have Guzman in that spot and rounding out the lineup is good for him and us. Just because a guy gets hot doesn't warrant moving him up in the lineup."
Guzman has made 30 of his 35 starts in the bottom three spots in the order.
"I'm good," Guzman said. "The way I think about it, we have been winning games with me in the bottom of the lineup and I have been driving guys in. I don't think we need to mess with."

Rangers beat 
• Left-hander Martin Perez, on the disabled list with nerve inflammation in his right arm, threw 30 pitches in a bullpen session on Thursday in Seattle and said he felt good afterward. It was his first time throwing off a mound since his last start on April 29. Perez is hoping he can get back into the Rangers' rotation after the All-Star break.
• Rangers Spanish broadcaster Eleno Ornelas celebrated his birthday on Friday.
• Outfielder Nomar Mazara was named the Rangers Player of the Month for May. Mazara hit .270 with 10 home runs, 23 RBI and a .622 slugging percentage.
• Catcher Cameron Rupp has exercised his out-clause at Round Rock and become a free agent.
