Dodgers prospects Alex Verdugo (No. 2) and DJ Peters (No. 6) each went yard in the eighth inning as the Dodgers cruised to an 8-1 win over the Indians on Monday.
The duo each only received one plate appearance in the game, but they capitalized on the opportunity and combined to dive in three runs in the frame as Los Angeles put the game away.
Verdugo, the No. 33 overall prospect, hit a two-run homer, his second of Spring Training, which boosted his average to .389.
Two batters later, Peters also hit his second homer of the spring and brought his average up to .500 (7-for-14).
Other top prospect performances from Monday's action:
• No. 2 overall prospect Ronald Acuna Jr. (Braves' No. 1) continued his torrid pace with a 1-for-2 game. Acuna, who has garnered plenty of hype this offseason and got off to an 0-for-7 start, has 10 hits in his last 16 at-bats.
• No. 16 overall prospect Kyle Tucker (Astros' No. 1) put together his second multi-hit effort of Spring Training, going 2-for-3 with a double and a smooth catch in right to fuel a win over the Marlins. Tucker is 3-for-6 over the past two games and is now batting .381.

• No. 53 overall prospect Willie Calhoun (Rangers' No. 2) went 1-for-4 and drove in two runs in the Rangers' 5-4 win over the Giants. Calhoun is hitting .364 and has hits in six of the eight games he played in.
• No. 61 overall prospect Dylan Cease (White Sox No. 5) put together another scoreless outing in his second start of Spring Training. The 22-year-old right-hander walked two but gave up just one hit and fanned four.

• No. 68 overall prospect Fernando Romero (Twins' No. 2) made quick work of the Phillies, striking out the side in his only inning of work. Romero hasn't allowed a hit or a run in any of his three appearances and has notched six strikeouts in five innings.

• D-backs prospects Socrates Brito (No. 14) and Jack Reinheimer (No. 25) each contributed to Arizona's big offensive performance in a 10-3 win over the Padres. Brito hit a solo homer, his first of Spring Training, in the eighth inning, while Reinheimer drove in two runs with a triple in the seventh. Brito finished 1-for-1 with a walk, while Reinheimer went 1-for-2.
• Nationals No. 12 prospect Andrew Stevenson provided all of Washington's offense in a 2-1 loss to the Cardinals. Stevenson, who hit just two homers last season, hit his first homer of Spring Training in the third inning.

• Tigers No. 17 prospect Victor Reyes got back on track with a 2-for-2 performance that also included a double. Reyes, 23, had been hitless in his past 10 at-bats prior to his two hits against the Mets.
• Pirates No. 23 prospect Jordan Luplow hit his first homer of Spring Training in the ninth inning of the Pirates' 7-5 loss to the Braves. The outfielder hit a career-high 23 homers in the Minors last season, then added three more in 27 games with the Pirates.
