Left-hander Logan Allen tossed seven no-hit frames before turning the ball over to Jason Jester for the final two innings to complete a combined no-hitter in Double-A San Antonio's 6-0 win against Tulsa on Thursday. It is franchise's first no-hitter since Kyle Lloyd accomplished the feat on May 13, 2017.

Allen, San Diego's No. 8 prospect, issued a season-high five walks but also struck out seven. Five of those strikeouts came in Allen's final two frames, as he struck out the side in the sixth inning and then fanned the final two batters in the seventh to finish with a season-high 105 pitches (67 strikes).

Allen, 21, allowed two batters to reach second base, while facing four over the minimum. He erased a leadoff walk in the second inning with a ground-ball double play, pitched around a pair of walks in the sixth, and picked off a runner at first base who had reached on an error to open the seventh. The outing matched Allen's longest this season, and he's now completed seven innings on three occasions.
Allen entered Thursday's start having allowing 12 earned runs on 20 hits over his last 17 1/3 innings (three starts) -- albeit with 24 strikeouts, including a career-best 12-strikeout performance on May 20. He's struck out at least six batters in each of his 11 starts for the Missions, totaling 76 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings to go along with a 7-2 record and a 3.24 ERA.
Jester replaced Allen in the eighth inning and sealed San Antonio's combined no-hitter by firing a pair of strong frames, striking out two and generating three ground-ball outs. The 27-year-old right-hander has pitched to 1.93 ERA across 17 appearances this season.
The Missions scored all six of their runs in the fifth inning, two courtesy of 19-year-old shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr.'s 10th home run of the season. The Padres' top prospect (No. 7 overall) batted .336/.414/.639 with seven home runs and 12 doubles in May -- a substantial improvement after his .177/.231/.333, three-homer showing in April.
