Angels 2026 third-round Draft pick Gavin Grahovac received a 60 grade for his power, which quickly tied him for tops in the system. It hasn’t taken long for the former Texas A&M standout to show why that’s the case.
Grahovac homered twice for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday -- both off of rehabbing big leaguer Nick Pivetta. His 2-for-4 night with three RBIs helped the Quakes top Lake Elsinore 5-3 at LoanMart Field.
Grahovac got going in the first inning, following a leadoff walk from fellow 2026 Draftee Jaxon Willits with his first big fly. He crushed a 1-1 breaking ball from Pivetta to deep center field. The two-run shot also quickly erased a first-inning run from Lake Elsinore.
After Lake Elsinore tied things up in the top of the third, Grahovac ripped the lead back once more in the home half. Pivetta stumbled a bit after delivering an 0-2 pitch, which hung up in the zone and allowed Grahovac to deposit it once again beyond the wall. It landed just beyond the 401-foot sign in center field.
Grahovac’s homers represented the lone damage Pivetta (flexor strain) allowed across three innings Tuesday. Lake Elsinore battled back again in the fourth, but Rancho Cucamonga clinched the win with sixth-inning RBIs from Jeffery Heard and Anyelo Marquez.
For the 21-year-old Grahovac, Tuesday’s effort was just another notch in an excellent start to his professional career. The Angels’ No. 10 prospect went yard in his first game on Aug. 4 and has mashed five total homers in 17 games this month, adding 10 RBIs on a .963 OPS.

Grahovac, a corner infielder, hit 47 homers in 130 collegiate games with the Aggies. There are swing-and-miss concerns in his profile, but the big-time power helped earn him first-team All-SEC and second-team All-America honors this season, while he was also a semi-finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
