PHOENIX -- Julio Urias, the Dodgers' 19-year-old top pitching prospect, experienced highs and lows in the Angels' 8-4 comeback victory on Friday at Camelback Ranch-Glendale.
Entering with a 4-3 Dodgers lead, Urias struck out all three hitters he faced in the seventh inning. But in the eighth, the young left-hander gave up Jefry Marte's leadoff single, David Fletcher's RBI double, Nick Buss' RBI triple and a walk before exiting. Urias was charged with three runs and took the loss in his first spring outing.

Geovany Soto staked the Angels to a first-inning lead with a three-run homer off Dodgers fifth-starter candidate Zach Lee.

The Dodgers scored once off Angels fifth-starter candidate Nick Tropeano in the first inning on singles by Joc Pederson and Corey Seager and a double-play grounder by Yasiel Puig. The Dodgers tied the game in the second on a homer by Austin Barnes, a walk to Rob Segedin, a double by Shawn Zarraga and sacrifice fly from Corey Brown.

"I'm really worried about health, getting ready for a season," Tropeano said afterward. "Spring Training, that's what it's for. Just thriving off that fastball command is really what I'm trying to work on this spring. It's getting there. … We're all capable of pitching in the Major Leagues, and at some point we're all going to help this team. Our main goal is to win a championship."

Adrian Gonzalez put the Dodgers ahead in the third inning with a solo homer off reliever Jose Alvarez.

Up next for the Dodgers: The Dodgers play split-squad games on Saturday night. They'll host the Cubs at Camelback Ranch, with Alex Wood starting for the Dodgers against Trevor Cahill in a 6:05 p.m. PT/7:05 p.m. MT start. A second squad travels to Peoria, with Brandon Beachy starting for the Dodgers against Seattle's James Paxton in a 6:40 p.m./7:40 p.m. game. Beachy is competing for the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Both games will be broadcast live on MLB.TV and Gameday Audio.
Up next for the Angels: Hector Santiago makes his third Cactus League start on Saturday, opposite veteran right-hander Jake Peavy, when the Angels host the Giants at Tempe Diablo Stadium at 12:10 p.m. PT, live on MLB.TV and Gameday Audio. Santiago is vying for a spot in the rotation and can essentially lock one up with a solid spring. The 28-year-old left-hander has given up two runs and struck out seven batters in five Cactus League innings thus far.
