Halos call up Bridwell, option Morin to Minors

ANAHEIM -- The Angels recalled right-handed pitcher from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned right-handed reliever Mike Morin to Salt Lake in a corresponding move Wednesday.
Bridwell entered Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Yankees in the fourth inning after starter exited with forearm tightness, holding New York to one run on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings.
Morin had been recalled from Salt Lake ahead of Tuesday's game against New York. He pitched 1 1/3 innings during the contest, allowing one hit and two walks, along with two strikeouts. He threw 31 pitches.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said the decision was made in order to have an arm available out of the bullpen for Wednesday night's series finale against New York.
The Angels acquired Bridwell on April 17 from Baltimore in exchange for cash. General manager Billy Eppler has stated previously the club viewed the 25-year-old as a starting pitcher, however Scioscia said Bridwell will be a part the Angels' bullpen.
Bridwell debuted for the Halos on May 30 in a start against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on six hits and a walk, and struck out four batters over six innings en route to picking up his first career win.
Worth noting
• Right-handed reliever began a rehab assignment Wednesday night with Class A Advanced Inland Empire. He was scheduled to throw the opening inning.
Street opened the season on the Halos' 60-day disabled list with a right lat strain. He was expected to be activated in early June before suffering a setback in his rehab assignment due to right triceps tightness.
• Right-handed reliever is "pretty confident" he'll be activated from the disabled list Friday or Saturday. The 25-year-old has been on the DL since April 22 with a right groin strain.
Bedrosian pitched one inning for Class A Advanced Inland Empire on Tuesday, and he will pitch one more inning at the same location Thursday.
• Scioscia confirmed recent free-agent addition Doug Fister will not serve in a relief role upon promotion. The 33-year-old right-hander has made two starts for Triple-A Salt Lake, posting a 1.69 ERA over 10 2/3 innings.
Fister has a clause in his contract granting him his release if he is not with Angels by June 21.
