Skaggs out 10-12 weeks with oblique strain

Tyler Skaggs exited the Angels' 6-3 victory over the Rangers on Friday after feeling a "pinch."

SEATTLE -- The Angels' rotation took another hit on Monday, as the Halos announced that left-hander is expected to miss 10-12 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right oblique strain.
Skaggs departed his start against the Rangers on Friday after feeling a "pinch" in his side and was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday. He flew back to Anaheim to be evaluated by Dr. Ron Kvitne and Dr. Steve Yoon, who diagnosed the injury and administered a platelet-rich plasma injection.
The loss of Skaggs is another blow for the Angels, who also have ace right-hander on the disabled list with a biceps strain. Though he struggled in his first two starts of the regular season, the 25-year-old Skaggs subsequently strung together three strong outings, allowing three runs over 19 innings.
Triple-A right-handers , and are likely among the candidates to take Skaggs' spot in the Angels' rotation.
