The Twins are getting one of their key pieces back for the stretch run, having activated outfielder Austin Martin from the 10-day injured list on Thursday afternoon.
Martin last played on Aug. 16, when he suffered a strained left hamstring while attempting to run down a fly ball along the left-field line.
The 27-year-old Martin played in two games earlier this week while on a rehab assignment for Triple-A St. Paul, going 3-for-8.
Martin is hitting .241 with three home runs, 21 RBIs and a .686 OPS (95 OPS+) in 110 games this season for the Twins. He’s also played above-average defense at all three outfield spots, drawing 71 starts.
In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned outfielder Gabriel Gonzalez to St. Paul. Gonzalez is 2-for-8 in seven games with Minnesota in 2026.
