Who are the best players born on each day of the year? We have a list for every day on the calendar.

Here’s a subjective ranking of the top five for June 23:

1. Tim Anderson (1993)
The White Sox star officially broke out in 2019, winning a batting title (.335) while emerging as one of the game’s most exciting young players. Anderson has continued to hit for average since, batting .322 in ’20 and .309 in ’21, reaching the postseason in each season. His trademark moment in the ’21 season came in the MLB Field of Dreams Game, when Anderson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Yankees.

2. Tom Haller (1937)
Haller was a model of consistency through his 12 Major League seasons, as his year-to-year numbers rarely strayed far from his career .257 average and .753 OPS. He began a string of three straight All-Star Game appearances in 1966, when he hit a career-high 27 home runs with the Giants.

3. Dave Goltz (1949)
Goltz was a veteran of 12 Major League seasons, eight of which he spent with the Twins, and the right-hander carried a heavy load when he was at his best. In 1977, Goltz went 20-11 with a 3.36 ERA that included 19 complete games over 303 innings pitched. That was part of a stretch of five consecutive seasons in which Goltz threw 10 or more complete games.

4. Jim Deshaies (1960)
A 12-year MLB veteran, Deshaies enjoyed success through the late 1980s as a starter for the Astros and has since moved into broadcasting. A longtime announcer in Houston, Deshaies has since moved on to calling Cubs games.

5. Jack Smith (1895)
Smith debuted in 1915 with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he’d play 12 seasons before finishing his career with the Boston Braves. An outfielder with the speed to steal 228 bases in his career, Smith was at his best from 1920-23, when he hit a combined .319 with a .300-plus average each season.

Aaron Robinson (1915)
Robinson won a World Series with the Yankees in 1947, part of a stacked lineup that featured a 32-year-old Joe DiMaggio and 22-year-old Yogi Berra. The Yankees faced the Brooklyn Dodgers that year in the World Series, featuring rookie first baseman Jackie Robinson.

Marty Barrett (1958)
Barrett played nine of his 10 MLB seasons for the Red Sox as a second baseman, including their postseason runs of 1986, ’88 and ’90. In ’86, Barrett went 11-for-30 with five RBIs in the ALCS against the Angels, earning MVP honors.
