Judge (stress fracture in ribs) hopes to return sometime in September without a rehab assignment.
Fried (left elbow bone bruise) could be activated to start one game of their Aug. 29 doubleheader against the Red Sox.
Cruz has a partial tear of his right UCL and will seek a second opinion. Season-ending surgery is a possibility.
Schmidt (Tommy John surgery recovery) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Aug. 29, likely with Double-A Somerset.
Roki Sasaki, Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith, Dodgers
Sasaki was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 27 with a blister on his right middle finger.
Ohtani (left knee inflammation) has a bullpen session scheduled for Aug. 28 in Detroit. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted the possibility of appearing as an opener as soon as Sept. 1.
Smith (neck inflammation) began a rehab assignment on Aug. 25 with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Dustin May, Jake Bauers and Abner Uribe, Brewers
May left his Aug. 26 start with a right scapula contusion after being hit by a line drive. X-rays came back negative, and he was able to play catch the following day.
Bauers has been sidelined since Aug. 25 due to shin splints, which he has been dealing with since May. He will receive a few extra days of rest with the hope of returning without an IL stint.
Uribe (right forearm flexor strain), who began a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Aug. 25, could potentially return as soon as Aug. 28 based on the club's current needs.
Adley Rutschman, Roman Anthony, Trevor Story, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Curtis Mead and Garrett Whitlock, Red Sox
Rutschman was out of the lineup through Aug. 26 due to right elbow soreness. Interim manager Chad Tracy said Rutschman's absence isn't expected to last longer than a day or two.
Anthony (partially torn tendon in right ring finger), Story (sports hernia) and Kiner-Falefa (stress reaction in left forearm), all on rehab assignments with Triple-A Worcester, were scheduled to be evaluated for potential returns on Aug. 27.
Mead (left wrist fracture) underwent imaging on Aug. 24 that came back clean. He can begin mobility exercises and progress toward strength work.
Whitlock (right elbow inflammation) threw his first live batting practice session on Aug. 26. He was expected to receive a follow-up evaluation on Aug. 27.
Juan Soto and Bo Bichette, Mets
Soto (left calf strain) took live batting practice for the first time, played catch and ran the bases without any problems on Aug. 26.
Bichette suffered a left ankle contusion after fouling a ball off himself on Aug. 26. He was held out of the lineup but available off the bench on Aug. 27.
Shane Bieber, Blue Jays
Bieber was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 25 due to right shoulder inflammation. He will be shut down from throwing for a "couple of weeks" before being re-evaluated.
Byron Buxton and Joe Ryan, Twins
Buxton left the Twins' Aug. 25 game in the seventh inning with a right hip injury. He received a scheduled off day on Aug. 26 and was expected to be further evaluated.
Ryan (mild left glute strain) threw about one inning of live batting practice on Aug. 26.
Blaze Jordan, Masyn Winn and Andre Pallante, Cardinals
Jordan left the Cardinals' Aug. 27 game with a left leg injury following a collision at third base.
Winn (left thumb fracture) was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 25 but is expected to resume swinging a bat soon.
Pallante (right elbow inflammation) threw a bullpen on Aug. 25 and is hopeful he could be activated as soon as he is eligible.
Chase DeLauter, Guardians
DeLauter was out of the lineup for a third straight game on Aug. 26 with left hamstring tightness.
Colt Emerson, Mariners
Emerson was scheduled to undergo season-ending left wrist surgery on Aug. 26.
Justin Steele and Ben Brown, Cubs
Steele (left elbow flexor strain) threw two innings against live hitters on Aug. 25.
Brown (stress reaction in neck) competed in a bridge camp game at Sloan Park on Aug. 25, throwing 34 pitches over two innings. Manager Craig Counsell said Brown “did great" and is likely nearing a Minor League rehab assignment, barring any setbacks.
Davis Martin, White Sox
Martin (blister on right middle finger) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 27.
Corbin Burnes, Ketel Marte and Zac Gallen, D-backs
Burnes (Tommy John surgery/teres major strain) could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Aug. 29.
Marte (left knee inflammation) could play in a bridge camp game on Aug. 27. Manager Torey Lovullo said on Aug. 24 that Marte is on track to be activated from the IL early in the week of Aug. 31.
Gallen (right elbow inflammation) threw three innings and 45 pitches in a bridge camp game on Aug. 25.
Robert Suarez, Braves
Suarez (right elbow inflammation) has been throwing on flat ground from 120 feet and could begin throwing off the mound as soon as Aug. 31.
Michael Massey, Nick Mears and Tony Gonsolin, Royals
Massey exited the Royals' Aug. 25 game in Toronto after falling and hitting his head while making a throw. He was placed on the 7-day concussion IL on Aug. 27.
Mears was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome on Aug. 25 and will undergo season-ending surgery.
Gonsolin (right elbow internal brace surgery) began a rehab assignment Aug. 26 with Triple-A Omaha.
Willy Adames, Carson Whisenhunt and Adrian Houser, Giants
Adames, who was placed on the IL on Aug. 24, has a moderate left UCL sprain and is seeking a second opinion, the Giants announced on Aug. 25.
Whisenhunt, who was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 25, has a torn left UCL, the Giants announced. He is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery, which could sideline him through 2027.
Houser left his Aug. 25 start in the second inning with a right forearm strain. He was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 26.
Casey Mize, Jeremiah Estrada, Joe Musgrove and Nick Pivetta, Padres
Mize (right ankle sprain) is scheduled to start on Aug. 28 against the Rays.
Estrada (right shoulder impingement) was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 26.
Musgrove (Tommy John surgery) made his fourth rehab start on Aug. 27 with Triple-A El Paso and could rejoin the Padres rotation after that.
Pivetta (right elbow inflammation) pitched three innings and threw 47 pitches in a rehab start with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Aug. 25.
Riley Greene, Brant Hurter and Jack Flaherty, Tigers
Greene (right hamstring strain) took batting practice and did straight-line running on Aug. 25 and could soon begin a rehab assignment.
Hurter (lumbar spine inflammation) resumed his rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Aug. 26.
Flaherty (right flexor inflammation) threw his third bullpen session on Aug. 26. He will have one more before potentially progressing to facing live hitters.
Tyler O'Neill, Orioles
O'Neill was placed on the injured list on Aug. 26 with a right rotator cuff strain.
