The Blue Jays have selected the contract of utility player Andy Burns from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). Right-hander Ryan Tepera has been optioned to the Bisons.
Burns, 25, has appeared in 27 games for Buffalo this season, batting .250 with nine doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI. The 11th round pick in the 2011 draft has appeared in games at 2B, 3B, SS, LF & RF this season without making an error in 103 chances. The Arizona University product is a career .271 hitter with a .762 OPS over six seasons and 526 games.
