KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- While surrendering three two-out runs was not exactly what A.J. Hinch had in mind for Brad Peacock's second Grapefruit League start, the Astros' skipper was pleased to see the right-hander pitch three innings against the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon.
"I'm glad he got through the three innings," Hinch said after Houston's 7-3 loss. "He built his pitch count up and he'll get to the next outing."
Peacock's third appearance of the spring was his longest, marking some positive progress after he had spent nearly all of 2015 on the disabled list.

After a scoreless first inning, Peacock ran into trouble with two outs in the second, allowing a solo home run to Mike Gerber and a two-run shot to Bryan Holaday. Peacock found his form in the third inning, though, and he completed the day having allowed three hits with two strikeouts.
"I thought Brad was pretty sharp early and then he ran into a little bit of trouble," Hinch said. "His command was better at the beginning of his outing than later into his outing."
Hinch also noted that James Hoyt threw well in an inning of relief and that, overall, all four pitchers the Astros utilized Wednesday seemed to struggle a bit with command.
