PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Veteran right-hander Jhoulys Chacin made his debut in a Braves uniform on Sunday and looked sharp during his two-inning stint, the first of this spring.
Chacin replaced starter Kyle Kendrick in the third inning, and had a perfect pitching line, retiring all six batters he faced in the Braves' 7-5 loss to the Mets at Tradition Field. Chacin, a non-roster invitee to Spring Training, registered two strikeouts.

"I thought it was really nice to see him. He's cleaned up his delivery," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of Chacin, who signed with Atlanta in the offseason as a Minor League free agent after pitching to a 3.38 ERA in five games with the Diamondbacks. "He had some really good life on his fastball today."
Worth noting
• The top of Sunday's starting lineup delivered five of the Braves' 13 hits, with Emilio Bonifacio, batting in the No. 2 hole, accounting for three hits to complement a 2-for-3 performance from leadoff man Ender Inciarte.

"Boni had a great day," Gonzalez said of Bonifacio, who started at second base and moved to center field when Inciarte's day was finished. "He gives you flexibility. He can play the infield, he can play in the outfield, and we want to give him some reps in center field in case we want to give Inciarte a break against a tough left-hander."
• Hector Olivera also had a productive game batting from the cleanup spot, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
"His bat is coming along," Gonzalez said. "We're going to keep running him out in left field as many games as we can. More and more I'm feeling comfortable with him out there in left field."
