MILWAUKEE – The Brewers have waited 44 years to bring a World Series home. Apparently, that has built up quite an appetite.
Sure, you’ll still find peanuts and Cracker Jack when the Fall Classic opens Friday evening at American Family Field. But perhaps the occasion calls for something more decadent -- how about watching Jacob Misiorowski’s first pitch with an enormous Tomahawk Steak in hand?
“If you’re from Wisconsin, you eat meat,” said Alex Beronja, executive chef at Delaware North. “We just want to bring our culture and also showcase that we are capable of having some really crazy kinds of ideas out there.”
While the Brewers took batting practice during Thursday’s World Series Media Day, the chefs were getting their reps upstairs, unveiling a selection of specialty menu items created specifically for this championship showdown with the Rays.

Beginning with Game 1, fans can sample the Walk-Off Burger (Burger Stands on Field Level, Sections 108 & 125), Prime Rib (Wisco Supper Club) and Beef Wellington (Carvery on Club Level).
Those new items complement returning favorites like the Dino Rib (K&L BBQ) and Brat Rangoons (Cheese Curd stands, Sections 214 & 223).
The latter item substitutes out crab for bratwurst and a sweet-and-sour mustard sauce. Beronja identified the Brat Rangoons as his personal favorite, saying, “It sounds crazy, but it works.”
“People have been really loving it,” Beronja said. “We did want to capture Wisconsin and Milwaukee culture as well. Obviously, we haven’t been on this stage in a long time, so we wanted to bring that kind of flair to it.”

Beronja said the Brewers began brainstorming this menu three months ago, long before they even knew Milwaukee would be in the World Series. While no one expected a sweep of the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, it’s also accurate to say they were prepared when it happened.
Appropriately, Milwaukee’s rich brewing tradition can be toasted with "Worth the Wait," a special Kölsch beer brewed on-site at J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard, located in the left-field corner of the stadium.
Additional must-try offerings include Monkey Bread (Section 216), Thai Elote Dog (Section 208) and Birria Nachos (Chucho’s Red Tacos).
“I just hope everyone is able to find something they can enjoy,” Beronja said. “We’re going to have 45,000, 46,000 people here, and not everyone has the same likes and needs. We just want to make sure everyone has a great experience.”
