MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins signed first-round Draft pick Brent Rooker on Tuesday, according to a report by MLBPipeline.com's Jim Callis. The club has not confirmed the signing.
Rooker, who was selected with the No. 35 pick, is the Draft's No. 50 overall prospect, per MLBPipeline.com. According to Callis, Rooker signed for $1,935,300, which was the slot value at that pick.
Rooker was the second player selected by Minnesota in the Draft, following shortstop Royce Lewis, who was taken with the No. 1 overall pick. Rooker, a first baseman/outfielder, was the SEC Player of the Year as a redshirt junior for Mississippi State.

This season, Rooker led college baseball in doubles (29), slugging percentage (.859) and OPS (1.371). His 21 homers were the fifth most in the nation, and he also recorded 18 stole bases.
Rooker was drafted by the Twins in 2016 in the 38th round, but didn't sign.
