Astros acquire lefty-hitting Sisneros in Minor League trade with Cubs

HOUSTON -- The Astros acquired Minor League left-handed first baseman Cameron Sisneros from the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for right-handed pitcher Jayden Murray, who had a 7.43 ERA in eight appearances with the club this year.

Sisneros, 25, has split the 2026 season between Double-A Knoxville and High-A South Bend, batting .265 with eight doubles, six home runs, 37 RBIs and an .841 OPS. Selected in the 14th round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of East Tennessee State, Sisneros has a .266/.401/.415 slash line with 16 home runs, 95 RBIs and 15 steals in 145 career Minor League games.

The Astros haven’t said to which of their affiliates Sisneros will report.

Murray, 29, bounced between the Astros and Triple-A Sugar Land this season, allowing 11 runs in 13 1/3 innings in the big leagues while posting a 1.17 ERA in 14 games for the Space Cowboys. He made his Major League debut last year and has appeared in 17 games for the Astros with a 4.68 ERA.
