Cards-Royals postponed Tuesday; DH Wed.

May 21st, 2019

ST. LOUIS -- With severe weather expected to move into the St. Louis area on Tuesday evening, the Cardinals proactively postponed their series opener against the Royals and rescheduled it as part of a split doubleheader on Wednesday.

The two clubs will still play Wednesday’s regularly scheduled 12:15 p.m. CT game at Busch Stadium. That will be followed by a 6:45 p.m. contest to wrap up the first of two series between the I-70 rivals. Fans with tickets to Tuesday’s game can use them for Wednesday’s nightcap.

Michael Wacha, who was slated to start on Tuesday, will start the first game against Brad Keller. Adam Wainwright will face Homer Bailey in Game 2.

With Tuesday’s game wiped from the schedule, the Cardinals were afforded consecutive days off. They’ll have another on Thursday, as well.
