Rox, CarGo reunion reportedly still possible

The Rockies remain in contact with , has learned. MLB Network insider Jon Heyman first reported the continued contact between the 32-year-old outfielder and the club, for whom he played the past 10 seasons. He hit 215 home runs and was named a National League All-Star three times in that span.
The Rockies acknowledge that they are staying in touch with Gonzalez as well as other free agents, but nothing is imminent with any of them at this time.

Gonzalez has been linked to multiple other clubs this offseason, including the Orioles, White Sox, Royals, Astros and Blue Jays. He is coming off a rough year at the plate, slashing .262/.339/.423 with 14 home runs in 136 games. But he did have a strong final month of the season, slashing .377/.484/.766 with 12 doubles and six homers from Sept. 1 through the end of the regular season.
The Rockies are currently looking to utilize , Charlie Blackmon and in the outfield. Parra is recovering from surgery on his right hand, and he could be back in the lineup this weekend. Should there be an injury to an outfielder, however, something could very well come together quickly with Gonzalez.
The same is true of free-agent first baseman , who slashed .267/.352/.487 with 30 home runs for Colorado in 2017. The club is currently playing rookie at first base. The 23-year-old is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with one home run in Cactus League play.
