KANSAS CITY -- The Royals on Wednesday reached an agreement with utility man Chris Owings on a one-year deal worth $3 million, plus $500,000 in performance bonuses.
Owings, 27, has a .250 lifetime average with the D-backs over six seasons. Last season, he hit .206 with four home runs and 11 stolen bases.
Owings can play middle infield and outfield.
