Bringing the Bernie Lean back to the Coliseum, the Oakland A's today announced that former A's outfielder Coco Crisp has joined the radio broadcast team as a game analyst.
Crisp will join the radio booth for 33 games throughout the 2019 season and will be featured in content on the A's channel on TuneIn. He will make his debut during Spring Training when the A's face off against the San Francisco Giants on March 10.
"The time I spent in Oakland as a player was very special, so to come back in any role is exciting," Crisp said. "This is a new venture for me - there's excitement when you are doing something new in baseball and this is definitely new. I looked at how Dallas Braden transitioned as a player with Oakland and I always thought that this might be an opportunity. This was a no-brainer for me when it was presented."
"We're so excited to welcome Coco back to our organization," said A's President Dave Kaval. "We know he'll bring his baseball knowledge and love for the green and gold into the radio booth to provide a unique perspective of the game for our listeners."
Crisp will join the great voices of the A's radio network - Ken Korach, Vince Cotroneo, Ray Fosse, and Chris Townsend. The A's have partnered with KTRB 860 AM and KHTK-AM 1140 in Sacramento. The dual stations, along with 17 additional radio network affiliates, will provide the largest coverage map ever for A's baseball. KTRB 860 AM will air every A's game, and KHTK-AM will air every game minus Sacramento Kings game conflicts. The Club will also debut free in-territory live streaming and a dedicated A's channel on TuneIn, the leading global live audio streaming service. The A's TuneIn channel can be accessed at tunein.com/athletics.com.
