Who wears short jorts? This team wears short jorts

Throw away your farmer's almanac and stop bothering that weird-looking groundhog: If you want to know if summer is here, look for the jorts. Those glorious cutoffs, those dreamy denim dungarees hanging out above the knees -- they are the clearest sign of summer.

Earlier this week, the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs, a collegiate wood bat team in the Expedition League, embraced that by playing in jorts. Yes, real jorts, not athletic shorts dyed to look like jeans. And it was something to behold:

Forget tight-fitting spandex and performance wear, denim is where it's at:

While Bill Veeck was able to get the White Sox into shorts, he knew the world wasn't quite ready for jean shorts. Today, we are.

Perhaps they're a performance boost, too. The Sabre Dogs, won 9-3, thanks to a seven-run explosion in the sixth inning.
