Seager sparks Dodgers' bats in Game 3 win

Shortstop tallies 3 hits as LA takes 2-1 NLCS lead

LOS ANGELES -- 's first hit outside of the first inning this postseason put the Dodgers on the board against in a 6-0 win over the Cubs on Tuesday night in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.
Entering Tuesday, Seager had been 5-for-8 in the first inning this postseason and 0-for-23 in all of his other at-bats. That changed in the third, when he roped a two-out single to right field for a 1-0 Dodgers lead. The hit scored , who had led off the inning against Arrieta with a single and advanced on 's groundout. Toles froze at second base when popped out on the field, bringing up Seager.

Toles went from second to home in 6.44 seconds according to Statcast™, his fastest such time in 2016. His previous high was 6.63 on Aug. 21 against the Reds.
Seager was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position this postseason entering Tuesday after going 0-for-7 in the same situation in last year's playoffs. He finished 3-for-4 on Tuesday with one RBI.
