Cubs face Giants ace Webb in series finale (Sunday, 3 ET on ABC/ESPN app)

The Cubs go for a sweep as they wrap up their series against the Giants on Sunday at 3:10 p.m. ET (2:10 CT/12:10 PT) at Oracle Park in San Francisco, with the game airing on ABC or via the ESPN app.

San Francisco took two of three at Wrigley Field last weekend, but the Cubs have won the first two games of the rematch.

has become the spark the Giants were looking for when they signed him out of the KBO before the 2024 season. He entered the series riding an MLB-leading 18-game hitting streak in which he’d hit 36-for-72 with seven extra-base hits and 10 RBIs before going hitless in the first two games of the series. A resurgent and rookie (with an incredible walk-off grand slam against the Nationals) have also been key contributors.

Meanwhile, -- the NL Player of the Week last week -- has blossomed into the Cubs’ best hitter out of the leadoff spot. He has smashed nine home runs since the beginning of May and has racked up a 17-game on-base streak.

Chicago’s overall offensive woes contributed to an 8-22 stretch heading into the Giants series. The Cubs have left the most runners on base in MLB this year, though they started to turn things around with three home runs -- including a Seiya Suzuki grand slam -- on Thursday against the Rockies.

The Cubs will send righty (5-4, 5.19 ERA) to the mound Sunday. Although Rea has pitched to mixed results, his presence has been imperative for a Cubs rotation that's been hit with key injuries to Cade Horton, Justin Steele and Matthew Boyd.

The Giants will have ace (3-4, 3.88 ERA) toeing the rubber. Webb got off to a shaky start and then needed time on the IL with right knee bursitis, but he has been right back to his former self since returning to full health. He’s allowed one run over 15 innings in two starts, striking out 11 and even flirting with a perfect game in Milwaukee.
