PHOENIX -- The D-backs will recall right-hander Zack Godley from Triple-A Reno to start on Saturday against the Marlins.
Godley, 26, is 4-5 with a 3.61 ERA in 11 starts between Reno and Double-A Mobile this season. He is 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA in three Triple-A starts.
"Last outing, he was fantastic for Reno, so we're excited to get him up here and get him a start," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "He had a tough spring, he was injured a little bit, sore. And he just has gotten back to being who he was last year, aggressive, getting the ground balls, using his sinker, using his cutter."
Last season, Godley went 5-1 with a 3.19 ERA in nine games (six starts) for Arizona.
It could potentially be a short stay in the Majors for Godley. Right-hander Shelby Miller (right index finger sprain) made a rehab start for Class A Advanced Visalia on Thursday and is nearing his return to the D-backs.
Miller pitched six scoreless innings, yielding two hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks in his rehab outing. Hale said the coaching staff and front office will have to decide, likely on Saturday, whether Miller will need another rehab assignment or if he could join the rotation next time through.
"That's another decision we're going to have to make," Hale said.
