With 20 homers and 17 steals across 480 plate appearances this season, Desmond has the skills to produce in multiple ways when he faces southpaw Jorge De La Rosa (career 4.60 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) and a Rockies relief corps that ranks 28th in baseball with a 4.82 ERA.

Elvis Andrus: Andrus has long fared best vs. left-handers, against whom he has a lifetime .730 OPS (.668 vs. righties). The shortstop could provide premium production when he faces the left-handed De La Rosa, who in his career has allowed right-handed hitters such as Andrus to post a .795 OPS (.646 OPS allowed to lefty batters).

Nolan Arenado: With a lifetime .887 OPS against left-handers that exceeds his .826 mark vs. righties, the third baseman will be in great position to thrive when he tangles with lefty Martin Pérez (4.33 ERA, 1.45 WHIP in 2016) and a Rangers relief corps that ranks 27th in baseball with a 4.65 ERA.
DJ LeMahieu: With balanced career splits, the second baseman -- who is hitting .326 this season -- could excel against Perez and an unreliable Rangers relief corps. In his career, the left-handed Perez has allowed right-handed hitters such as LeMahieu to post a .779 OPS (.629 OPS allowed to lefty batters).
Anthony Rizzo: In his career, the first baseman has produced a .230 ISO against right-handers that exceeds his .185 mark vs. lefties. From the heart of a productive Cubs lineup, Rizzo could rip a roundtripper or drive in multiple runs when he faces Angels righty Ricky Nolasco (5.23 ERA, 1.33 WHIP rate in 2016).
Addison Russell: The second-year shortstop will be in prime position to improve on his lifetime 103 wRC+ against right-handers (63 vs. lefties) when he tangles with the right-handed Nolasco (career 4.59 ERA, 1.32 WHIP).

Jason Heyward: Hitting .229 this season, the outfielder could have a reduced price tag in DraftKings contests when he brings his lifetime .815 OPS against right-handers (.658 vs. lefties) into a matchup with the right-handed Nolasco. In his career, Nolasco has allowed left-handed hitters such as Heyward to post a .788 OPS (.736 OPS allowed to righty batters).
Wilmer Flores: Flores has registered notable splits this season, with a 1.082 OPS against left-handers in comparison to a .605 mark vs. righties. The third baseman could drive in multiple runs when he faces D-backs southpaw Robbie Ray (career 4.58 ERA, 1.46 WHIP), who in his career has allowed right-handed hitters such as Flores to post an .803 OPS (.741 OPS allowed to lefty batters).

Betts could contribute in multiple ways when he faces a likely battery combination of Eovaldi (4.80 ERA, 1.32 WHIP in 2016) and Brian McCann, who has allowed more steals than all but four catchers in 2016.

John Jaso: The first baseman could reach base often or score multiple runs when he brings his lifetime 123 wRC+ against right-handers (56 vs. lefties) into a matchup with righty Edwin Jackson (career 4.59 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) and a Padres bullpen that ranks 24th in baseball with a 4.28 ERA.
Scooter Gennett: The second baseman owns pronounced lifetime splits, with a .324 wOBA against right-handers that exceeds his .212 mark vs. lefties. Gennett will be in prime position to excel when he bats at his offense-inducing home park against Braves rookie righty Joel De La Cruz, who has a 14-to-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 29 innings.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis: With 10 homers and eight steals across 299 plate appearances, the outfielder has the power-speed skill set that DraftKings participants covet. Nieuwenhuis could contribute in multiple ways when he brings his lifetime .739 OPS against right-handers (.478 vs. lefties) into a matchup against a likely battery combination of the rookie righty De La Cruz (5.14 FIP) and catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who sometimes struggles to thwart would-be basestealers.
Drew Pomeranz: The left-hander will be primed to pick up his first win with the Red Sox when he brings his impressive 2016 ratios (3.09 ERA, 10.0 K/9 rate) into a home matchup with a Yankees lineup that ranks 25th in baseball in OPS vs. lefties (.708) and 28th in OPS on the road (.674).
Chase Anderson: With a 5.01 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP this season, the right-hander could have a reduced price tag in DraftKings contests when he faces a Braves lineup that ranks last in the Majors in ISO vs. righties (.123) and total home runs (72).

Jaime García: The left-hander will be in great position to deliver a stellar start when he works at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Reds lineup that ranks 27th in the Majors in OPS vs. southpaws (.690) and 26th in OPS on the road (.683).
José Quintana: With a lifetime 3.38 ERA, the left-hander has the skills to post a substantial DraftKings total when he vacates his hitter-friendly home park and works at offense-suppressing Kauffman Stadium against a Royals lineup that ranks 22nd in baseball in ISO vs. lefties (.152) and 27th in total home runs (95).
