The White Sox picked rookie Dane Dunning while the A's turned to veteran Mike Fiers to start the decisive Game 3 of the AL Wild Card Series on Thursday.

White Sox manager Rick Renteia and A's manager Bob Melvin made the decision prior to the 3 p.m. ET game (ESPN).

Dunning was 2-0 with a 3.97 ERA in seven starts for the White Sox in 2020. The 35-year-old Fiers was 6-3 with a 4.58 ERA.
