GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- As pitched for the first time in a Cactus League game this spring for the Reds, catcher also saw his first action in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Brewers.
Mesoraco caught both of Arroyo's two scoreless innings and grounded out to the shortstop in the second inning during his lone at-bat.

"It was good. Health-wise, I feel great," Mesoraco said. "I think my heart was beating a little faster than normal today, just getting out there for the first time in a while. I'll keep working, get back out there and get back to where I was."
Mesoraco is attempting to come back from left shoulder and right hip surgeries last year. He had a left hip operation in 2015.
Because of the injuries, Mesoraco caught only 18 games the past two seasons and played in 39 games overall.
