CHICAGO -- Cubs manager Joe Maddon tells center fielder Dexter Fowler, "You go, we go," before each at-bat, and Fowler listens.
Fowler had three hits on Thursday night in the Cubs' 8-1 victory over the Reds, and now has reached base in all nine games this season. He has a .559 on-base percentage and leads the team with five multihit games, two of them three-hit performances.
"You go, we go," Maddon reiterated when asked about Fowler. "He's been doing it the whole season. His at-bats have been spectacular."
Fowler singled in the first inning, reached on a bunt single in the third, walked in the fifth and delivered a two-run single in a five-run eighth.

"How about that bunt? It was perfectly placed," Maddon said. "He's setting the tone, but up and down the lineup, I'll say it again, they're all engaged in every pitch. I love it. The at-bats were great."
The other Cubs are watching and learning from Fowler.
"Dexter's doing his thing," Addison Russell said. "That's what I want to do -- I'm not as old as these older guys, and anything they do, I try to peek in on what they're doing and try to learn from them."
